How long is the DVD Keepsake?
It's entirely up to you and how many pictures and videos you choose to include. If you only have 100 photos, a slide show of the photos will be roughly 8-10 minutes. The longest slideshow we've ever done included over 400 photos and lasted over 35 minutes! Videos are also going to vary. We are of course completely flexible to your requests, and every situation is unique.
DVD technology allows Shoebox Memories to include up to 2 hours of high quality content per disc. If your DVD Keepsake includes many fancier features, you may get less content on the disc.
Does a DVD Keepsake play all the way through from the beginning?
It can, but usually they do not. Typically DVD Keepsakes are not going to be played from start to finish in one sitting - especially since most DVD Keepsakes are archives of many events. Also, since there may be many sections/chapters on the DVD, you might not want to be locked into a single sequence of memories. If you would like your DVD Keepsake to play from start to finish, we can do that -- just let us know.
What kind of photos can you work with?
We can work with photographic prints up to 8"x10" in size (3x5, 4x6, 5x7 are all just fine). Paper prints must first be scanned, and you can save some money by scanning these photos yourself (if you have a scanner). Digital photos from your digital camera or from a CD-ROM are also acceptable, and there is no need to scan digital photos.
Can background music be included?
Yes, but you must provide us with the music on CD you wish to include. Shoebox Memories can not provide you with the music. There is no limit to the number of songs we can include, and there is no additional charge for this.
What kind of video can you work with?
We can work with video clips and add them to the DVD Keepsake. The video clips can be in a digital format such as (MPG, AVI, MOV, QT or DV), on a DVD, or on a video tape (VHS, VHS-C, or Mini DV only).
Can the DVD Keepsake be played on a computer/laptop?
Yes. Shoebox Memories provides you with a DVD which can be played in both a standalone DVD player (like what you might find in a home theater system) as well as a computer's. So if your computer/laptop has a DVD drive, it should play your DVD Keepsake. NOTE: We use the DVD-R format, which works with 95+% of all DVD players on the market (virtually all DVD players). How much time does Shoebox Memories need to prepare the DVD Keepsake?
Standard turnaround time is typically 2-3 weeks, but rush processing is available by request. Occassionally during peak periods, it may be slightly longer. We will let you know if this is the case.
