the Benefits of Converting to DVD

Turn old home movies on 8mm or 16mm film or vhs or video8 or Hi8 videotapes to DVDEvery time you watch your films and videotapes, the quality is reduced slightly. It's not that you're doing anything wrong, as all tapes will degrade over time. VHS tapes typically have a shelf life of approximately 10-15 years. Eventually, your tape will become nothing but a snowy, static-filled memory. You can extend the life of your memories by making the conversion to DVD today!

DVD's will last approximately 100 years, and the quality will be exactly the same every time you watch it. Plus, you'll get the added benefit of DVD random-access, meaning you'll be able to skip to the best parts of the video quickly.

Each DVD can hold up to 2 hours of digital high-quality video, and you may optionally choose to have multiple tapes or film reels consolidated on to a single DVD. Got a lot of old videos? We can help convert your entire home video library to DVD! Want to give copies to friends or relatives? We can help with that too!

the Shoebox Memories Difference

Not all vhs-to-dvd and film-to-dvd video transfer/conversion services are the same. Some companies churn out video conversions in a very impersonal and mechanical way. For videotape-to-DVD conversion they might have a room full of automatic VCRs and DVD recorders which require very little human interaction. For film-to-DVD conversion they might just "project" onto a wall and videotape it with a camcorder. Their DVD cases and labels will be unattractive, text-based, and something you won't care for. Cutting corners, could mean lower quality, and therefore a rock-bottom price. Be cautious of those who would offer you a price that's "too good to be true," and make sure the service you choose offers you everything you want in your DVD.

Don't settle for boring DVD menus when you could have fun full-motion video preview menusWe think your precious memories deserve much more personal attention and care. We offer MUCH more than simple and unattractive textual DVD menus (see graphics at left) and/or ordinary jewel cases. See more samples here. We fully customize your order to meet your needs, and we treat your videos as if they were our own family's memories - all at a very reasonable cost. Want more customization, let us know! We're also local to the Washington DC area, so we're probably just a short drive away -- although we do accept orders shipped from customers nationwide.
